Matt is a teacher at a small country school in the 1990s. He and the principal, Des, are locking horns over the fate of a 15-year-old Māori boy, Lawrence. Lawrence is a constant offender, and Des has decided he should be sent to a new ‘full-immersion’ Te Reo Māori school for troubled Māori youth.
