Damon Andrews

Damon is a writer and director with 30 years’ experience in television, film and theatre. He ran the story table for New Zealand’s most successful series drama, Shortland Street, for 14 years, writing stories for over 2500 episodes, and co-writing their web-series, Redemption. Damon worked as a development writer on several NZ series, including Harry and 800 Words, and written films for Unitec's graduating students.  Damon continues to work as a freelance writer for local and international productions. 

Damon’s theatre scripts include Social Animal, Timberrr…!Wheeler’s LuckSplitIf Pain Persists and Elvis was a Coconut.  Wheeler’s Luck - which he co-wrote with Nigel Collins and Toby Leach - has been produced in New Zealand and Australia and toured internationally. The script is now studied and performed in schools, with over 100 productions to date.

Damon has appeared as an actor in theatre, film and television in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. He also directed episodes of The Tribe for Cloud Nine and Channel Five (UK).
