Willy Craig Fransen

Willy Craig Fransen (Ngāi Tahu, Te Aupouri, Ngāti Horana, Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō, te Iwi Mōrehu, Ngāti Koterana) is an actor, director and playwright. In 1997 he wrote Taku Waimarie, which was subsequently produced and toured by Taku Rua for 6 weeks in 1998. He wrote and directed Kia Ngāwari for Taki Rua's Te Reo Māori season and was a script adviser for other Te Reo Māori Season whakaari.

Alongside his performing arts mahi, Willy has been actively involved in Māori education. He is currently the Tumu Whakarae of Taki Rua.
